How to use the Electronics & wiring bench
Begin outside the guitar: level down, known-good cable, direct signal path, comparison instrument, room, and safe amplifier or interface.
Choose the right starting point
Once the source domain is isolated, use the phase, wiring, pot, capacitor, and coil-mode pages to define passive-circuit requirements and tradeoffs.
This category contains 6 focused tools. Read each page’s preparation and limitation sections before entering values, then follow only the related workflow that resolves the next uncertainty.
Evidence standard
Never open an amplifier, power supply, or mains device. Maker wire colors are not universal, so document lead functions before soldering.
- Preserve the starting condition.
- Change or test one variable.
- Retune or reset the test condition.
- Repeat the same measurement.
- Record remaining uncertainty.
When to stop
Stop when evidence conflicts, a datum is unclear, hardware reaches a limit, or the next step becomes structural, energized, or irreversible. A qualified technician can inspect conditions that browser inputs cannot represent.
